Animal Facts Club is a group of friends and family who come together to share awesome facts about animals with each other. We make annual calendars, and have informal meet ups. We’ve made large-scale puppet shows, video work, and a range of other artistic projects. Based in Austin TX, established in Richmond VA, and spread to California, AFC knows no bounds. How to Start Your Own Animal Facts Club
It’s easy!
A couple of weeks out: Invite some folks you suspect might be interested in animals over to your house for a meeting. Ask them to each research and present an animal to the group. Presentations can take whatever form the presenter wants—slide presentation, drawing and text, poem, or song. Shoot for five minutes each if you have a group of 10 or more.
Day of: Gather refreshments and set up a computer for visual aids. Then take turns presenting. Keep a binder or notebook to keep track of the animals covered at each meeting. Then make plans to meet back up for another meeting. You can each draw a card from the deck if you want to choose your next round of animals that way.
You did it!
